The source guide is explicit and direct about this: the popular "13-month Celtic tree calendar" and full divinatory tree-meanings have "no historical basis in Iron Age or Medieval Irish sources" and were constructed by poet Robert Graves in his 1948 book The White Goddess — "a modern literary invention, not a recovered ancient system," per the source's own words. That distinction (real ancient script vs. modern divinatory layer) is preserved as the card's actual point, not smoothed over.
