Electronic Throttle Body: How It Works

How a drive-by-wire throttle is controlled by the ECU, what its sensors read, and how to check it before replacing it.

Status

The source pin includes a six-pin wire-color and pinout table. Wire colors and pin assignments vary by manufacturer, so the table is left out and only the working mechanism is kept. The pin itself says to check wiring, connectors and ECU signal before replacing the throttle body. Voltages are typical, not exact; confirm against the service manual.
