SkillCatch Vitruvius
Don't Skip the Diverter
The rain falls for free on every roof. Most of it just runs off into the street.

Vitruvius's rule: start with a barrel, and don't skip the first-flush diverter — the part that dumps the dirty first bit of roof runoff before the clean water goes into storage. Free water, done right.
About Catch Vitruvius
Looked at his water bill one day, looked at the sky, and made a decision. Named for the real Roman engineer who was writing about rainwater collection systems in the first century BC — same problem, same solution, just waiting for someone to bother building it again. Hasn't paid a meaningful water bill since, and gets genuinely delighted every time it rains, in a way his own family finds a little much.
