Flat Paint Is a Decision

Not shiny doesn't mean not finished. Sometimes flat is the actual choice, not a step somebody skipped.

Roth's second rule: flat paint is a decision, not a shortcut. A matte finish takes just as much intention as a glossy one — maybe more, since there's nowhere for a mistake to hide behind the shine. Plain doesn't mean lazy.

About Rat Roth

Sage Morris's twin, working the opposite tradition — kustom kulture, rattle-can technique, the same pinstriping lineage that runs back through Von Dutch and Sailor Jerry. Treats a flat, unpainted surface like an unfinished sentence. His real belief, stated plainly: everything's a canvas, most people just don't know it yet.
